Description: Monovalent cationic dye, rarely used in antiseptic and disinfectant nowadays, has used as dye, generic name Methylrosaniline chloride. Crystal violet has antibacterial, antifungal, and anthelmintic properties and was formerly important as a topical antiseptic. It has been used in the external treatment of burns, wounds, and fungal infections of skin and mucous membranes, and internally for pinworm and certain fluke infections; used as a stain for chromatin, amyloid, and platelets in blood, fibrin, and neuroglia; used also to differentiate bacteria. Substances used on humans and other animals that destroy harmful microorganisms or inhibit their activity. They are distinguished from DISINFECTANTS, which are used on inanimate objects. A dye that is a mixture of violet rosanilinis with antibacterial, antifungal, and anthelmintic properties.
